Saturday Cars and Coffee for Sporting Cars (09/25/2010)

Saturday Cars and Coffee for Sporting Cars

Many of us have busy Saturdays….the family, house and errands. BUT then, there ARE our cars…and the need to get out, spend some time with others over just coffee and chat. CARS & COFFEE is just that. Everyone gathering early Saturdays, at a central location, get or bring a coffee and just enjoy cars.…just a good reason to get out, have coffee and drive when traffic is a LOT less.

It starts early, and ends early so everyone back home is happy that you are not off killing the whole day. BUT THE IMPORTANT THING IS: our cars are out…we are driving and seeing & talking cars for a few civilized moments of the week with others of like mind. Your neighbors would not understand.

  • CARS: open to all makes & marques, ALL eras and it’s not a show or a concourse. It’s just that: Cars & Coffee.
  • WHERE: STARBUCKS – 9616 Manchester – 2 Blocks WEST of McKnight & Rock Hill Rd. intersection plaza…[about 2 miles south of 40/64. Plenty of parking. Don’t like Starbucks???—that’s fine. Bring your own or have a Wendy’s and breakfast which is next door.
  • WHEN: 8:45 to 10:30 AM
  • RAIN?--- If it’s raining – some might not come but there is always a gathering. It’s still a time to get out with enthusiasts away from the fray.

Memphis Euro Auto Fest (10/02/2010)

Memphis Euro Auto Fest

October 1st and 2nd, 2010!! http://www.memphisbritishcars.org/eurofest.htm

The Memphis Euro Auto Fest is a cooperative effort by the various Memphis British and European car clubs. The purpose of the event is twofold. Auto enthusiasts have the opportunity to show off their favorite toys - and get a chance for an up close look at other people's toys. More importantly, the show's proceeds are donated to Youth Villages, our designated charity. The featured marque for the 2010 show is Mercedes-Benz.

This year's 2010 Memphis Euro Auto Fest will return to the beautiful Bartlett Campus of Youth Villages - 7410 Memphis-Arlington Road - on October 1st and 2nd. Visit the pages for the previous shows to see the class winners and many photos from those events.

MG80 - 80th Birthday MG Car Club UK - St. Louis Event (10/16/2010)

MG80 - 80th Birthday MG Car Club UK

The date will be the weekend of the 16th-17th October 2010. The plan is for the whole event to start in New Zealand early in the morning and travel westwards around the globe, passing through Kimber House, Abingdon, UK at noon and finishing in Alaska late that evening.

The MG Car Club are inviting all overseas MG clubs to join in this exciting worldwide event. We would like each club to stage a local event of their choosing which is both organised and funded by them, and which involves as many members as possible. We want the clubs to capture the spirit of their event on photo or video, which will be then upload to the Internet and displayed on a time line showing the progress of the events throughout the day.

St. Louis Event - Hold the Date Please

We are working on ideas for a St. Louis event but please plan to join in at some point because we'll want as many cars as we can muster to setup a great photo opportunity to feature St. Louis

More details to follow but we're going to need a big turn out folks!

Rally to Reno - Convoy to MG2011 (06/04/2011)

Rally to Reno - Convoy to MG2011

Headed to the 2011 All-MG event in Reno, Nevada next June? Come along with everyone on a drive across Route 50 from Sea to Shining Sea. We'll be starting in Ocean City, MD on Saturday, June 4th and stopping at cities and towns on Route 50 all across America. Cincinnati, St. Louis & Kansas City are just a few of the places along the way.

You don't have to start at the beginning, just join in anywhere along Route 50. There will be plenty to do and see, such as a trip to the top of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis or a drive to the top of Pike's Peak in Colorado. Set your own pace during the day and join up with the group each evening at the hotel and other stops. More details at http://rallyetoreno.com/

After MG2011, we'll continue to San Francisco to complete the trip (even though Route 50 now officially ends in Sacramento), dip our tires in the second ocean that month, and sightsee for a day or so in the City by the Bay.
